Ikuinen Kaamos is a metal band from Finland. The band
was formed in 1997. As a result, Ikuinen Kaamos released
two demos in the following year. The demos were mainly
directed to the underground black metal scene. But
after the second release the band drifted into a dead-end
and they decided to split-up.
In 2003, one of the founding members of the band,
Jarno Ruuskanen, wanted to bring Ikuinen Kaamos back
to life. The band’s style began to take shape. They
started to soak up influences from death, doom and
progressive metal. New members were introduced and
the band released two demos in 2003 and 2004. The
releases received excellent feedback from the media
and fans. Ikuinen Kaamos was ready for the next step.
In
2005, Ikuinen Kaamos signed a record deal with a dutch
label called Descent Productions. The band entered
EastVoice-studio in august of 2005 to record their
debut album The Forlorn. It is an ambitious release
that captures the passion and creativity of Ikuinen
Kaamos. The lyrical concept is based upon a story
of an old man who murdered his wife and child decades
ago, and now he struggles with faith and guilt. The
Forlorn is a unique album that will captivate the
listener from the beginning to the end.
